Mish

Artist statement

Mish is a multidisciplinary artist working across photography, video, and performance. Their practice centres on themes of community, mental health, and identity. Collaborating with others is central to their approach, and they are inspired by the power of visual art to empower people to tell their own stories.

After completing a BA (Hons) in Commercial Photography at Arts University Bournemouth in 2015, Mish worked as a studio and photographer’s assistant. In 2022, they earned an MA in Psychosocial Studies from the University of London, studied part-time. This academic background informs their interest in using photography not just for documentation or portraiture, but as a therapeutic and collaborative process.

Mish is currently developing two projects: a documentary exploring community through music, performance, and the organisers who bring it to life; and a project on grief and care, raising awareness of the UK’s care system and the importance of creating our own networks of support.
